Overview
Boeing South Carolina is looking for an experienced Interior Arrangement Certification Engineer or Engineering Unit Member (E-UM) to support the 787 interiors certification group and certify interiors configurations. The statement of work includes reviewing Major and Minor forms in DCCS, providing input for the Certification Plans, reviewing Certification Plans for all payload inputs, submitting Requests for Conformity (RFC), reviewing Boeing and Supplier compliance documents, collaborating with design and production build teams to resolve inspection findings, and reviewing final interiors compliance reports. The Certification Engineer will work closely with the project Certification Plan Owner, Design Teams, Integration, other Interior Arrangement E-UMs, and Regulatory Administration. Responsibilities
Provide oversight and direction to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. Lead development, maintenance and modification of structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D CAD tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Lead performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Manage supplier development, test and production activities and coordinate with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. Develop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Work under consultative direction. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. 15+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, and/or certification. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of payloads engineering releases and configuration management processes. Experience in implementing and sustaining project management best practices. Strong attention to detail and effective collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal, within the team and externally. Experience in Certification Plan Authoring. Experience in ENOVIA, IVT, DCCS, and REDARS. Experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and EASA equivalents. Experience in reviewing technical documents. FAA DER Interior Arrangements.
