Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Job Summary Responsible for the maintenance of Quality Standards to ensure the building of the highest quality product most efficiently, meeting company performance standards, customer specifications, and delivery deadlines, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Supports Manufacturing and Engineering in the identification, control, and documentation of in-process or final characteristics to ensure a product that meets customer requirements.
Directs activities concerning the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
Creates sampling procedures and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of product; devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
Provides training and mentoring to employees regarding the quality system and compliance with quality management standards.
May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology (e.g., CMM programming and complex gaging), research and development, and administrative application.
Ensures the integrity of inspection, measuring, and test equipment, including proper use, care, and handling and writing calibration procedures.
Manages the quality system audit function; facilitates and takes part in any NADCAP, CASE, FAA, customer, internal or any other audit that is required; facilitates the responses to customer complaints by supporting Manufacturing and Engineering during the investigations.
Creates the paperwork and tracks all customer deviation requests (RMRA’s etc.).
Facilitates internal, external, and supplier corrective actions to ensure timely responses that will eliminate the causes of the rejection.
Interacts with other departments to provide assistance and guidance on quality issues; participates in engineering, production, quality, and management meetings when needed.
Controls/adds methods of measure to Ace Precision Inspection Methods Sheet (IMS) program.
Manages APQP and PPAP compliance requirements as defined for assigned customer products or other specified products as assigned.
Performs measurement system analysis (MSA) on inspection methodology to ensure inspection accuracy/precision at a proficient level. Makes quantitative based decisions from analysis results and reverifies desired results.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and conformity to Ace Precision Quality System Work Instruction requirements that govern quality operations.
Maintains or exceeds production standards through organization and planning.
Follows and complies with safety rules, regulations, and work instructions.
Accurately completes all required documentation.
Meets attendance policy requirements.
Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Quality Engineering or other manufacturing or technical field.
Minimum of two years of related experience.
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification desired.
Knowledge of quality systems and technical skills in process quality engineering, certification in Quality Engineering and computer literacy in Microsoft Windows and Office Applications.
Experience with CMM programming and advanced metrology a plus.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Additional Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as specifications, blueprints, computer programs, process control sheets, routings, and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization and maintain positive employee/employer relations.
Ability to respond to technical inquiries, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts of algebra, geometry, and advanced shop mathematics.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
