Job Overview This is a second shift position (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm shift). At some point the shift will move to four ten hour days Monday through Thursday 3:30 pm to 2:30 am. The role is a regular full‑time position with no travel. The work environment is a cleanroom (ISO Class 7) requiring proper safety precautions. The technician supports production Space/Satellite programs and aids engineers in the development of test and alignment fixtures and tools.

Responsibilities

Fabricate subassemblies and perform integration of subassemblies with electrical, optical and mechanical components for production units

Independently follow detailed, pre-approved work instructions and test procedures and record detailed test data in Travelers

Support requests for parts, materials and equipment required for assembly and testing of subassemblies.

Ensure that all tools, equipment, and consumables are within calibration and expiration dates.

Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, testing results, and any modifications made. Create comprehensive documentation outlining assembly procedures and troubleshooting techniques.

Inspect products, materials, or components to identify defects or deviations from quality standards. Use various tools and techniques for inspection, such as calipers, gauges, and testing equipment.

Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to provide feedback on design improvements and manufacturing processes.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Three years experience building and testing custom, complex high precision electro optical assemblies.

Fiber optic splicing processes and equipment, including arc fusion splicers, cleavers, and re‑coaters.

Use of optical sources, power meters, and optical spectrum analyzers to test optical components.

General understanding of how to follow detailed work instructions and record required information in Travelers for traceability.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience or Secondary/Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work is typically performed in a Cleanroom environment (ISO Class 7) which requires proper safety precautions.

Ability to use your hands in a skillful, coordinated way to grasp and manipulate objects and demonstrate small, precise movements.

Ability to follow detailed work instructions or test procedures.

Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.

Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle changing priorities.

Willingness to learn new tasks/skills.

Familiarity or experience with schematic capture design tools preferred.

Experience in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen, preferred.

Hand soldering in compliance to J-STD-0001 space addendum a plus.

Must be a US Citizen.

Funding and Opportunities This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

Pay Range The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is $39,400 - $75,900.
