Overview

Electronics Validation Engineer at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) within the Electronic Development Department (EDD) of the Electronic Systems Development (ESD) Division. The Electronics Validation Team oversees the design and validation of body electronic features and components for Hyundai/Kia/Genesis vehicles. What You Will Do

Oversee performance of in-cabin cameras in Hyundai/Kia/Genesis vehicles and ensure adherence to Driver Distraction Guidelines. Perform technical validation of related functions, focusing on functional performance; create validation test plans and reports. Collaborate with stakeholders (HMG R&D, suppliers, quality departments, etc.). Understand system components and architecture; provide recommendations to enhance user experience (UX). Develop troubleshooting/root cause analysis skills and communicate effectively with management and SMEs. Responsibilities

Conduct end-to-end validation on features based on Test Development Plans (TDPs); create or modify TDPs to improve validation efficiency. Create and present management reports on project status, technical advancements, trends, and competitive benchmarks. Participate in design reviews/workshops to define component requirements and convert them into TDPs and execution plans; specify engineering tools for design, simulation, and test automation as needed. Engage in competitive vehicle benchmarking activities and coordinate evaluations with suppliers, distributors, and HMG R&D. Identify specification deficiencies and report concerns for tracking and alignment. Support team members in identifying and resolving system-related issues during testing; assist R&D leadership in resolving open issues. Analyze concerns using logging tools and work with stakeholders to identify root causes and solutions. Support quality-gate activities before vehicle platform launches and address field/customer concerns after launches to maintain or improve customer experience. Perform focus validation on post-SOP software to resolve customer-impacting issues. Stay current with NHTSA guidelines and provide progress reports throughout product development. Develop/maintain positive relationships with tech experts from the R&D Center and counterpart teams; travel up to 15% domestically and internationally. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field Automotive engineering experience Knowledge of vehicle communication technologies (CAN & Ethernet) Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for electrical systems and components Familiarity with ECU hardware/software design Experience in in-vehicle validation testing and competitive benchmarking Understanding of DOT and NHTSA Visual-Manual Driver Distraction Guidelines for In-Vehicle Electronic Devices (NHTSA-2010-0053) Familiarity with OEM applications of guidelines Ability to evaluate UI implementations (displays, controls, touchscreens, physical controls, labels) Understanding of electrical component specification development Experience in creating electrical component timing, test plans, and procedures Familiarity with bench development validation Flexibility with program and process changes Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) Excellent time management, self-management, and organization skills Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field Experience with automotive product development processes from concept to launch
