AECOM is seeking a
Civil Engineer
to be based in Houston, TX. You will be joining a global team of maritime specialists who support a wide range of maritime development projects including container terminals, LNG facilities, waterfront development, cruise and ferry terminals, shipyards, marinas and harbors, as well as coastal schemes such as beach development and coastal protection schemes.
Responsibilities
Undertaking design and planning activities on maritime projects such as container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbors, coastal defense and development schemes.
Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Occasional short to medium term site visits may be necessary depending on project requirements.
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field
Valid Driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science in Civil Engineering
One (1) year or more of related experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of computer analysis and design software such as Civil 3D, RISA 3D, SAP 2000, STAAD.Pro, SAFE and (or equivalent)
Knowledge in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment
Demonstrable interest in developing a career in Ports & Marine Engineering
Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive
Additional Information
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is USD 70,000.00 - USD 80,000.00 per year.
