Additionally, familiarity with Lua, UI design applications, and test-driven development would be beneficial. The job is based in Ripon, WI, and involves working with a global product portfolio used in diverse commercial settings.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Project Management:

Lead firmware-related projects. Manage large-scale outsourced firmware development projects.

Technical Expertise:

Become a subject matter expert on microelectronic product portfolios. Establish firmware architecture requirements. Write and validate detailed microelectronic control design and test specifications. Maintain model configuration information for microelectronic product portfolios.

Cross-functional Engagement:

Participate in cross-functional team activities. Engage in product development meetings, feature definition sessions, pilot builds, and manual reviews.

Testing & Validation:

Validate test equipment produced by manufacturers. Perform firmware development and testing in lab environments. Write test lab orders for execution by lab technicians.

Issue Resolution:

Investigate and resolve firmware issues. Drive root cause analysis and resolution.

Quality & Cost Improvements:

Identify opportunities for quality and cost improvements.

Production Support:

Provide support to production as needed.

Vendor Management:

Manage vendor access to licensed developer applications and tools.

Education & Experience:

Preferred Degrees:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of programming experience. Extensive experience in firmware development with C programming. Experience with Lua and UI designer applications like Storyboard is a plus. Project management experience is highly desirable.

Strong technical skills in firmware development and debugging. Practice with test-driven firmware development is advantageous.
