The position is responsible for designing and overseeing the electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm system, low-voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control), etc., for bidding and construction on various projects. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, with a strong technical background, who thrives on helping clients and will be involved in all phases of the project. The role requires project management and business development experience. This role designs and oversees electrical systems for projects, collaborates with a team to design energy-efficient buildings, and coordinates with clients and contractors. The position is onsite in Chattanooga, TN. Key Responsibilities
Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors. Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineers. Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications. Professionally stamp drawings, prepare affidavits, etc. Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed with verbal and written communication. Lead and guide meetings as needed. Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks. Confer with other engineers and personnel to complete project deadlines. Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements. Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements. Research and analyze clients design requirements to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance needs. Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents. Desired Experience
7+ years of experience with MEP design Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Experience with internal and external project management Experience in MEP design and specifications Experience with managing, maintaining and creating Owner and Architect relationships Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 and Commercial market sectors Experience with Revit/AutoCAD About Legence
