Mechanical HVAC Technician III, 40 hrs, Gaithersburg
Job Summary
Performs industrial and commercial mechanical HVAC installation and repair, electrical and controls work related to mechanical HVAC systems installation and repair, use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and fix problems, minimizing downtime and damage to systems, throughout all facilities at Kaiser Permanente and provides an environment that is safe for members and staff. This position consistently supports compliance and Kaiser Permanentes Code of Conduct by adhering to federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements and Kaiser Permanentes policies and procedures. In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives. Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors. Performs mechanical HVAC installation and repair, at assigned facilities as directed by immediate Supervisor. Works in self-directed way with limited supervision. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and fix problems, minimizing downtime and damage to mechanical HVAC systems. Performs maintenance on equipment like boilers, chillers, (VFD) variable frequency drives, refrigeration units, air handlers, exhaust fans, system pumps, and controls. Ensure compliance with equipment and appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Performs all Environmental and Safety tasks in accordance with appropriate Occupational, Safety and Health and Environmental Regulations. Documents steps or measures taken in performing tasks in accordance to EHS Regulations. Participates in the EHS assessment process and performing the necessary tasks or operation to achieved compliance with assessment recommendations. Keeps inventory of tools and shop supplies. Performs other duties within their field as assigned by immediate supervisor. Ability to work afterhours, weekends and holidays. Ability to work at elevated heights. Seniority level
