Overview Cadence Technologies is a national distributor of leading process component manufacturers, supporting the food and beverage manufacturing sector. The Field Service Technician will provide on-site service support for valve rebuilds, pump rebuilds, homogenizer services, and heat exchanger services, as well as shipping and receiving support for the distribution business.
Responsibilities
Perform on-site valve rebuilds and positive displacement pump rebuilds on projects.
Support on-site services such as homogenizers and scrape surface heat exchanger services.
Unpack delivery shipments and perform three‑way matches of packing lists to parts received and purchase orders.
Process inventory replenishment orders in a timely manner, ensuring proper storage in the warehouse.
Execute cycle counts to maintain inventory integrity reflected in the system.
Manage shipment requirements such as ship complete, freight collect, partial shipments, etc.
Schedule trucks for LTL and dedicated truckload shipments of projects to maintain project deadlines.
Prepare large equipment shipments of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, etc. for shipment by building crates and frames.
Process pick tickets for process components and parts pulled from inventory warehouse.
Package and ship parts orders to fulfill orders generated by inside sales team.
Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, parts catalog updates, filing documentation, and archiving documents as needed.
Essential Functions
Experience using hand tools and power tools.
Strong mechanical understanding; mechanically inclined.
Experience in maintenance tasks such as tear downs and reassembly.
Detail oriented with a passion for quality.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, schedule‑driven work environment.
Hard‑working, self‑motivated with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
Ability to read manuals and retain information on various equipment.
Required to work overtime and weekends when needed to support business needs.
Ability to learn various business processes and procedures.
Enjoy working closely with others.
Must be able to operate a forklift.
Label, pack, and load items for shipment according to specifications.
Inspect and unload delivery vehicles.
Other duties as assigned.
Willing to travel and work holidays and weekends.
Education and Experience
High school or GED; Associate’s or Technical Diploma is a plus.
Experience with tools, machinery, and mechanics.
Relevant industry knowledge is a plus.
Travel
Willing to work most holidays and weekends.
Estimated travel 50%, both regional and national.
