This position will support the design, development, testing and operational phases of projects undertaken at Peraton Labs, the research and development arm of Peraton. The candidate will work closely with a diverse team of engineering, scientific and technical staff to develop novel solutions for complex projects. The role requires the ability to work semi-independently in a small multi-disciplinary team, analyzing, designing and implementing FPGA-based solutions. Developing or supporting software interfaces for embedded devices and modules to power, generate, and receive signals for prototypes and field-deployable systems is a critical component. The ability to read, comprehend and generate professional quality design documentation as well as code is required. Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the development and testing of FPGA-based solutions, related software and electronics for experimental and production systems Architect embedded solutions that meet system requirements Guide development and engage in testing firmware and software, document and fix bugs Support the development and review of documentation packages including Use Cases, Data Flow Diagrams, State Machine Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams and Test Plans Develop embedded computing and digital signal processing designs and applications Provide expertise in analyzing FPGA designs and refactoring as needed Qualifications
Required Education and Work Experience
The candidate has diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices. A degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering is required with the following experience levels: BS with 8 or more years of experience MS with 6 or more years of experience PhD with 3 or more years of experience Experience must be in a relevant professional setting. Required Skills/Attributes
Experience using system requirements to develop test harnesses for FPGA designs that simulate models before implementation Extensive experience with FPGA development using tools like AMD's Vivado and VHDL Experience generating and reading State Machine, Logic, Flow, and Interconnection Diagrams Experience with version control tools such as GIT or SVN Ability to communicate designs through presentations and provide material for review Some experience with C, C++ and debugging tools like GDB Experience with analog and digital data acquisition and signal conditioning techniques Proficient in writing technical documentation in MS Word and PowerPoint Ability to be onsite five days a week when required Ability to obtain Secret clearance U.S. Citizenship Desired Skills/Attributes
Experience with electrical or computer engineering design and development Experience with Python and MATLAB + Simulink for automating data collection and analysis Experience with in-depth analysis of electrical systems and input/output signals for reverse engineering purposes Details
Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. Salary is determined by factors including scope and responsibilities, experience, education, location, and contract considerations. Overtime, shift differential and discretionary bonus may apply. EEO:
