Piper Maddox is working with a North American energy infrastructure company at the forefront of low-carbon innovation. With a growing portfolio in carbon capture, utilization, and storage, they are seeking a Senior Project Development Manager – CCUS to support the commercial advancement of clean energy projects across the U.S. and Canada. The Opportunity In this role, you’ll report to senior leadership and play a key part in identifying, developing, and progressing CCUS projects from early-stage assessment through to execution. This includes market and site evaluation, stakeholder engagement, regulatory strategy, and commercial structuring. The ideal candidate will have experience in energy infrastructure development and a strong grasp of the evolving low-carbon landscape. Key Responsibilities Lead the identification and development of CCUS and low-carbon infrastructure opportunities across North America. Conduct market research and project viability assessments, with a focus on customer needs, policy incentives, and commercial alignment. Guide projects through development phases including site selection, subsurface assessment, permitting strategy, and land or utility planning. Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, legal, finance, operations) and external stakeholders to structure commercial agreements and secure project approvals. Support business case development and investment proposals to inform capital allocation decisions. Maintain awareness of industry trends and regulatory developments, and represent the company at key industry events. Contribute to the evaluation of partnership or acquisition opportunities that align with strategic objectives. Requirements A degree in engineering, geoscience, resource management, or a related discipline. 8+ years of experience in energy infrastructure or decarbonization project development, ideally including CCUS, pipelines, or subsurface assets. Familiarity with permitting processes, site development, and stakeholder engagement across multiple jurisdictions. Demonstrated ability to advance both greenfield and brownfield projects. Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage complex development timelines. Working knowledge of tools such as ArcGIS and a data-driven approach to decision-making. Self-starter with strong communication skills and an ability to operate independently.
