Summary of position:
We are looking for a sharp, ambitious, and enthusiastic Receptionist Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be passionate about working in a care team model, providing care for our orthopaedic patients, and supporting the clinical team. We are currently hiring Reception Specialists at the following locations: Westover Hills and Quarry Area.
What you'll do:
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Greets customers in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner. Provides necessary instructions/directions and informs the appropriate department/person of the customer's arrival.
Verbally informs patients of wait times.
Updates patient information (such as insurance cards, driver’s license, authorizations, and referrals), provides necessary forms for completion, and obtains signatures as necessary.
Administers appropriate forms needing completion and obtains signatures as necessary, including privacy and financial policies.
Collects co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances utilizing eligibility and phone reports.
Refers patients to Financial Counselor for payment agreements or detailed explanations of benefits.
Answers phones pleasantly and addresses customer needs expeditiously.
Schedules follow-up appointments as required and attaches referral requests.
Enters charges into the computer system.
Assembles new patient charts for the next day’s clinic.
Balances daily collections with time of service payment summary report and prepares deposit slip. If on the early shift, the employee must lock the collection bag in the safe at the end of their shift.
Carries out appropriate actions related to hold and practice buckets daily.
Accepts deliveries, enters them into the log, and notifies the appropriate party. Directs packages to the appropriate party, documenting date and location sent.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
What you'll need:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have at least one year of work experience in a clinical setting or equivalent experience in a customer service role.
Must have exceptional customer service skills. Familiarity with insurance benefits is a plus. Must be computer literate, with basic knowledge of MS Office products and general office machines such as fax and copier.
Must have the ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate team cooperation.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary and may vary at times, as needed by your immediate supervisor or as directed by the company.
Requires prolonged sitting, stretching, and some bending. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other equipment. Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate information to patients and team members. Normal but fast-paced work environment.
