Clearance Requirement:
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, to include U.S. Citizenship. Applicants selected must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
License / Certification
Journeyman or Master License in Electrical or Mechanical

Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The technician serves as an expert technical resource reporting to a program manager, interacting with Onsite Engineering Operations (OEO) and any third-party vendors. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all facility operations within a given data center and to support operated data centers. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.
Meet all requirements of CET1.
Utilize safe working practices; apply lockout/tagout, SDS, apply good housekeeping methods, etc.
Utilize common administrative and office software.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, floor plans, construction documents, mechanical riser drawings, OEM operating and maintenance instructions, job specifications, and MOP/SOPs.
Use hand tools and test equipment to install, troubleshoot, and repair new or replacement parts for existing mechanical and electrical equipment covered under CET2 classified procedures, according to specifications and established safety guidelines, relying on MOPs, manufacturer’s literature, and industry best practices to perform tasks under supervision, and ensures activities are logged in CMMS.
Assist CET3/4 technicians with CET3 classified procedures (MOP/SOP) and transfer knowledge to train other technicians.
Conduct daily walk-through of facility documenting parameters such as power availability, temperature and humidity, alarm status, etc., to identify discrepancies and trends.
Be conversant in site-specific processes and procedures such as procedure creation and review standards, procedure instructions and templates, how to report an incident or outage, procedure execution, PM standards, CMMS standards and policy, work order and notification, and the use of SharePoint to access CE procedures and training content.
Understand how to action all site primary and secondary EOPs, focusing on the first responder role during an emergency.
Fully conversant on how to complete drills associated with the site primary and secondary EOPs.
Understand the function and operation of MV/LV Distribution Boards, MV/LV Breakers, UPS, Generator, Batteries, STS, ATS, AHU, DX units, Chillers, Evap Washer Systems, CRAC Units, Fuel Systems, ASCO Systems, BMS/EPMS, and Fire Alarm System.
Be conversant with the BMS and EPMS systems and the impact of state changes, capable of navigating the system, interpreting alarms, and performing controlled shutdowns/startups/equipment rotations.
If applicable, disable and enable fire alarm control panels and systems.
Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations.
Interpret building codes and local and federal regulations as they relate to installations and apply them as required by the site.
Identify required materials and parts for maintenance and repair to facilitate procurement.
Understand heating cycles and components, diagnose problems in heating systems, and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Understand refrigeration cycles and diagnose/correct problems in refrigeration circuits using standard gauges and temperature measuring devices.
Knowledge of power density and parity with HVAC system capacities, and cooling and heat load/loss calculations.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum 6+ years of experience with electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
3+ years of experience in a data center environment.
Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain before assignment; willingness to undergo government security investigation.
Mechanical candidates should have experience with centrifugal chillers greater than 300 tons, boilers, or equivalent mechanical experience; EPA Certification required.
Electrical candidates must hold a current Journeyman License; experience with switchgear, generators, UPS or related electrical systems.
Desired / Advantageous Qualifications
Journeyman Electrician License, Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent.

Can relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead regularly.
