Overview
Position Overview We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable High School Biology and Chemistry Tutor to join our dynamic academic team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in the sciences and proven success teaching one or more of the following subjects:
Biology: General Biology, AP Biology
Chemistry: General Chemistry, AP Chemistry
Environmental Science: Environmental Studies, AP Environmental Science
We are looking for educators who are not only subject-matter experts, but who are also committed to building a student-centered classroom that sparks curiosity, fosters inquiry, and inspires a love for scientific exploration.
Responsibilities
Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and teach rigorous, standards-aligned lessons that build scientific knowledge, analytical skills, and real-world application.
Foster a Supportive Culture: Create a respectful, collaborative classroom environment that encourages participation, curiosity, and teamwork.
Differentiate Instruction: Adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English language learners and students with special needs.
Assess & Provide Feedback: Use varied assessment strategies to monitor progress and provide constructive, timely feedback to support student growth.
Maintain Academic Focus: Ensure classrooms are well-structured, organized, and conducive to active learning and responsibility.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or Education (Master’s preferred).
Secondary teaching credential or subject certification preferred but not required.
At least 2 years of high school teaching or tutoring experience.
