Overview
The Clinical Pharmacist shall be responsible for conducting clinical pharmacy services and ensuring that the pharmacy provides optimal clinical services on a daily basis. The Clinical Pharmacist will work with the Manager, Pharmacy to facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, cost-effective drug therapies. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within the scope of the role. Responsibilities
Conduct clinical pharmacy services and ensure optimal clinical services daily. Collaborate with the Manager, Pharmacy to develop, implement, and maintain systems that promote safe, cost-effective drug therapies and desirable patient outcomes. Perform duties within the scope of the role as assigned. Education / Experience
Graduate of a school of pharmacy required; PharmD degree preferred (or 2-3 years of clinical experience). License / Certification
Active RPH required; Alabama Controlled Substance certification required; BLS required; ACLS required; BPS preferred. Additional certifications (PALS, NRP, etc.) may be required depending upon area assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Evidence of commitment to continuing education. Ability to accurately perform computer order entry duties; proficient in needed pharmaceutical calculations and the metric system. Knowledge of aseptic technique. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Position requires sitting for 30% of the workday and mobility 70% of the workday. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Frequent reaching, use of hands, and repetitive action. Continuous need for clear speech and hearing to communicate by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside environment protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels with possible low-level background noise. Much exposure to computer work. Minimal exposure to hazardous chemicals. Primary Location
