Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties. The Apothecary Pharmacist shall be responsible to provide and coordinate pharmaceutical services for the MCC Apothecary. This individual is responsible to perform both retail and specialty pharmacy operations. The Pharmacist will prepare and dispense prescriptions, prescription compounding, and patient education. Additionally, the Pharmacist will monitor patients, provide purchasing and inventory management, and record-keeping. The Pharmacist is responsible to adhere to good pharmacy practice and maintain strict compliance with all laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy as well as maintaining all standards for URAC and ACHC accreditation. Highlights

Summary : Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy or PharmD degree. At least 3-5 years experience in a retail pharmacy. Experience working in a speciality pharmacy setting preferred. Education / Experience : Active Pharmacist licensure required. Alabama Controlled Substance certification required. BPS preferred. License / Certification : Ability to accurately perform computer order entry duties. Proficient in needed pharmaceutical calculations and the metric system. Basic knowledge in pharmacokinetic calculations and parenteral nutrition management. Knowledge of aseptic technique. Evidence of commitment to continuing education. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Position requires sitting for 10% of the workday and mobility 90% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements : Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
