OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - Pediatrics Outpatient Rehab Cork St - Full Time job at Valley Health. Winchester, VA. Department OUTPATIENT REHAB CORK ST - 207100. Regular. New hires may be eligible for relocation assistance. They may also be eligible for a sign-on bonus of $15k or $25k dependent on experience, OR up to $30k in student loan reimbursement.
Responsibilities
The Therapist II supports the overall Mission and Vision of Valley Health by providing the highest quality and best-practice service to its customers and may be employed in any one of the rehab settings.
Acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team, responsive to physician referrals, determines the skilled and medically necessary needs of the patient, and provides discipline-specific interventions to improve safety and functional independence through the rehab process.
Provides feedback to determine and recommend the patient\'s progression through the continuum of care.
Establishes and maintains professional competence, identifies educational needs, and seeks learning opportunities from more advanced clinicians and continuing education.
Delivers rehabilitation services in a timely and efficient manner, adheres to licensure, documentation and billing guidelines, and participates in program development and process improvement initiatives as appropriate.
Clinical settings may include the following: Acute, Orthopedics, Medical/Surgical, Medical/Pulmonary, Neurology, Cardiac ICU, Step Down, Trauma, NICU (OT), CST, Inpatient Rehab, Outpatient Orthopedics, Neurology, Trauma, Outpatient Pediatrics, Women\'s Health, Drivability, Vestibular, Lymphedema, Aquatics, Vision, Wound Care.
Maintains a working knowledge and supports departmental, hospital and organizational initiatives; communicates professionally and timely (e.g., emails).
Education
Post Graduate Certificate, Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Occupational Therapy.
Has completed CI credentialing course, home study adult learning course, or equivalent (up to one year to complete after hire).
Experience
Minimum two years of clinical experience (4,160 hours).
Certification & Licensure
OT licensure - Virginia/West Virginia licensure or transitional license at time of hire required.
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ˜Healthcare Provider\' (HCP) - AHA approved required.
Qualifications
Basic computer and keyboarding skills or participation in computer training within the first year of employment.
Competent to interact with patients according to their age-specific needs (Age Specific Competencies).
Learning and demonstrating entrance-level, set-defined basic competency in provision of discipline-specific interventions.
For advancement: overall minimum score of "Exceeds Expectations" and at least "Fully Meets Expectations" in all individually scored areas on the most recent performance appraisal; exhibits consistent proficiency for advanced level, set-defined competency in the provision of discipline-specific interventions.
