Overview
We are looking for a full-time veterinarian to join our team to provide medical care for animals, diagnose and treat illnesses, consult with clients about their pets’ health, maintain patient records, and perform surgeries and related procedures as needed. The ideal candidate will have a DVM and an active license to practice in the state.
Responsibilities
Determines nature of disease or injury by examining pets; examining small animals.
Restores health by treating animals surgically or medically.
Prevents rabies, brucellosis, and other disorders by testing animals; providing inoculations.
Promotes health of animals by advising animal owners about sanitation measures, feeding, and general care.
Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and animal records; reporting diseases to public health officials.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Enhances veterinary clinic reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualifications
Educational Background: A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution is required.
State Veterinary Board License must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.
Flexible work schedule, with availability to work some weekends and holidays
Knowledge of Animal Behavior, Basic Safety, Documentation Skills, Customer Service, Performing Diagnostic Procedures, Use of Medical Technologies, Job Knowledge, Judgment, Integrity, Verbal Communication
