Mechanical Engineer (Thermal Chilled Water Systems)
Job location: Vertiv's Westerville, OH – Polaris location. This position is on-site.
Job Summary The Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the design of mechanical parts and assemblies. This person will work in a cross-functional development group. A variety of tasks and activities are required in this dynamic environment, and will handle some small-scale designs with guidance.
Responsibilities
Punctuality and regular attendance.
Contribute to design projects and handle simple, tightly scoped design tasks with guidance.
Create 3-Dimensional models using a 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) package.
Create and revise drawings and bill of materials.
Interact with employees, outside vendors and suppliers as needed.
Build prototypes to support the development of product design.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or directly related degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate degree; Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software.
Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of applicable engineering modeling tools.
Technical knowledge of content primarily related to mechanical design.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic team.
