Senior Quality Engineer

CEIS | Critical Energy Infrastructure Services CEIS | Government is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to lead construction quality assurance and control efforts on a critical DOE infrastructure project. This individual will support inspections, issue resolution, and standards compliance across a range of high-spec civil and structural work scopes in a heavily regulated environment. Responsibilities
Lead civil/structural quality inspections across scopes including soils, concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, and protective coatings. Review, develop, and implement project inspection plans in alignment with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. Identify, document, and track non-conformance items; issue corrective actions and follow up to resolution. Coordinate daily inspection schedules and engage proactively with field teams to maintain quality momentum. Support punch list tracking, in-house walkdowns, and turnover readiness in conjunction with site managers. Participate in lessons-learned evaluations, continuous improvement initiatives, and client QC recognition programs. Communicate clearly across disciplines to reinforce safety-conscious work environments and field-first quality. Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree in a technical field and 57 years of field QA/QC experience (civil-focused), or Associate degree + 79 years, or High School Diploma + 1014 years of directly relevant experience. Strong understanding of civil inspection processes and recent (within 12 months) hands-on structural field experience. Familiarity with non-conformance workflows, field coordination, and DOE/QA compliance protocols (NQA-1). Excellent communication and documentation skills with proven field coordination capability. Preferred Qualifications
Current certification in Civil Quality Inspection Level II or III. Special Inspector credentials (e.g., ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector). Familiarity with adhesive anchor inspection per AC308 and review of ESR reports. Working knowledge of concrete properties testing and ACI codes (especially ACI 318 and ACI 349). Additional certifications such as AWS CWI, ICC Structural Steel and Bolting, or ICC Structural Welding Inspector.
