Overview
Quality control leadership role involving supervision of quality control engineers in support of project work and maintenance activities. Provides quality control support to construction management and directs personnel to implement quality requirements and accurately status results. Establishes priorities to support construction/operations needs and resolves complex problems by coordinating with internal and external departments. Provides leadership that promotes efficient performance, safe work habits, timely information exchange, and adherence to site policies. Participates in contract discussions related to quality activities and prepares comprehensive status reports for construction quality activities.
Duties Review and approve subcontractors’ quality procedures and monitor adherence. Coordinate activities of assigned quality control engineers with other construction departments to ensure in‑place compliance with site specifications and standards. Prepare quality procedures to ensure proper inspection, testing and surveillance activities are performed. Provide effective quality training programs and ensure assigned personnel are qualified to perform their tasks. Prepare performance evaluations of assigned personnel.
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 8 - 10 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas. An AS degree and 10 - 12 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 12 - 16 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent.

Practical field experience in civil (soils, concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, protective coatings) quality control inspections.
Ability to develop, review, and implement inspection plans in accordance with technical documents, codes and standards.
Competency in reviewing and issuing non-conformance reports and coordinating corrective actions.
Strong organizational and communication skills to foster a collaborative and safety-oriented work environment.
Experience working under NQA-1 quality assurance programs at DOE facilities.
Practical QC inspection field experience within the last 12 months.
Nice to Have
QC Certification as Level II or Level III
Familiarity with AC308 adhesive anchor requirements and ESR reports
Knowledge of concrete fresh properties test methods
Additional certifications such as AWS CWI, ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector, and ICC Structural Welding Special Inspector
Highly knowledgeable in ACI 318 and ACI 349
