About the Role Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies. We’re looking for a talented presales individual with deep expertise in cloud, hybrid cloud, and on-premise networking to join our global sales engineering specialist team. As a Sales Engineering Specialist focused on Networking, you will work closely with our sales and field sales engineering teams to accelerate our presales motion by establishing secure connectivity to databases and related services for replication. You will be responsible for providing consultative network architecture reviews and presales implementation and troubleshooting of supported connectivity methods. In addition, you will be tasked with working cross-functionally with our SRE and Product teams to ensure comprehensive support for networking mechanisms and services. This is a full time, hybrid or remote position based out of our Denver, CO office or remotely in the US. Technologies You’ll Use
Fivetran\'s data integration platform, deployment and connectivity methods, and automation/abstraction technologies for infrastructure creation and management Cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform and related VPN and Interconnect technologies (IPSec, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute etc) Common cloud networking services (load balancers, firewalls, DNS etc) Common network monitoring utilities (netcat, traceroute, telnet, netstat, nslookup, tcp) Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF etc) and switching protocols (STP, VLAN etc) Container management software including Kubernetes, Docker, and Podman Bash scripting and UNIX/LINUX What You’ll Do
Create and validate enterprise networking architecture design in conjunction with our customers and field sales engineering teams. Deploy and troubleshoot our supported networking methodologies including Reverse Proxy, VPN, PrivateLink, Proxy Agent and more. Work closely with Fivetran’s Product and SRE teams to ensure our networking capabilities are fit for purpose, secure, and well implemented. Be a voice in the deployment and management of our Hybrid Deployment offering, offering networking expertise when using Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes. Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in networking, security, and secure data management. Skills We’re Looking For
5+ years as a network engineer, network specialist, site-reliability engineer, sales engineer, cloud networking architect or other technical role with a focus on networking technologies. Deep understanding of VPC design and implementation in AWS, GCP, and Azure including experience with security groups, network ACLs, and routing. Extensive hands-on expertise with modern cloud, on-premise, and hybrid-cloud network architectures and connectivity mechanisms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in the context of troubleshooting network and connectivity issues. Passion for networking, related technologies and hardware, and the data domain. Curiosity to learn and assimilate technical information quickly, enthusiasm to share and teach others. Pay and Perks
Pay Range $171,363 — $214,204 USD. OTE (On Target Earnings) $214,203.75 — $267,755 USD.
