Overview
PRODUCE/PRIMETIME ASST DEPT LEADER role at Kroger Mountain View Foods. This position provides leadership during primetime hours to drive sales and enhance the customer experience. Hours: primetime hours (3p-7p M-F; 11a-7p Sat/Sun) Responsibilities Promote trust and respect among associates; communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates
Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets through teamwork
Ensure orders are put up in a timely manner, manage backstock, rotate product and replenish throughout the day
Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in the performance appraisal process
Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated; answer questions, make suggestions, and locate products
Inform customers of produce specials and offer product samples to help discover new items
Ensure merchandising standards are followed; inspect products for quality and freshness and take action as needed
Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management
Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions
Ensure in-stock behaviors are executed daily
Implement the period promotional plan for the department
Ensure hourly conditioning and that products are kept fresh and displays are clean
Maintain backroom and prep areas with 5S practices; ensure a good close for morning readiness
Plan and organize the inventory process; monitor inventory/stocking conditions and discrepancies; train department on inventory/stocking and CAO
Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers; keep temperature logs
Reinforce safety programs; comply with safety procedures; identify unsafe conditions; inspect equipment; notify management of repairs or accidents
Report safety risks, issues, and legal activity as required
Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines
Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications
Minimum Excellent oral/written communication skills
Ability to handle stressful situations
Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)
Desired High School Diploma or GED
Any produce or retail experience
Any management experience
Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
