POSITION DESCRIPTION

Work within the Upstream Process Engineering Division of the Process and Control Systems Department.

Provide technical expertise in Crude Oil Processing, support plant operations, and consult on technology improvements.

Lead evaluations of Crude Oil Processing and Water Treatment technologies to enhance plant performance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver technical support for Crude Oil processing operating plants.

Troubleshoot major plant upsets, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend remedies.

Lead the evaluation of Crude Oil Processing and Water Treatment technologies and develop technology road maps.

Conduct simulation studies using Aspen HYSYS, analyze process models, and assess production capacity.

Prepare preliminary scopes of work, process schematics, and equipment lists for debottlenecking existing facilities or designing new ones.

Coordinate capacity increase studies with operating facilities, detailed engineering design contractors, and vendors, setting design baselines and scoping work.

Create and update Aramco Engineering Standards related to Crude Oil Processing.

Support process design and engineering activities for new projects in conceptual, pre‑FEED, FEED, and Detailed Engineering phases.

Mentor and develop young Saudi Arab engineers.

Develop and deliver technical courses for engineers from operating facilities.

Present technical papers at major international conferences and issue papers in reputable oil and gas journals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s or higher is desirable).

Minimum 20 years of experience working directly with Oil Processing such as Gas / Liquid Gravity Separators, Liquid / Liquid Gravity Separators, Electrostatic Coalescers, Crude Stabilizers, Gas Compression Units, Primary and Secondary Water Treatment, with 3+ years at Crude Processing Facilities.

Membership of a recognized professional institute is preferred.

Have adequate design experience to lead as the company representative when working with engineering companies performing studies and design activities for Oil Processing projects.

Expertise in process simulation modelling using Aspen HYSYS.

Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Analysis is preferred.
