Overview
TCI is seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer to combine technical and sales knowledge to create new opportunities while supporting current customer relationships. The ideal candidate will help customers solve harsh chemical and thermal challenges with TCI’s high-performance fluoropolymer films, laminates and composites. The role requires motivation, a competitive spirit, and the ability to deliver first-class service, meet and exceed sales goals, and contribute to personal and company success. The position allows for personalized approaches to achieving targets. Responsibilities
Develop close relationships with customers to identify current and future needs and provide technical product support and application knowledge to create high-quality solutions. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through referrals, lead generation and proactive outreach. Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, drawings, plans, and related customer documents; consult with engineers and other professionals. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key decision makers, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process. Prepare sales reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information including strategic opportunities and challenges. Stay current with industry trends and competitive products through online research and trade shows. Stay current on company technologies and capabilities to support customer engagement. Engage in ongoing training to improve technical knowledge, sales strategies and product expertise. Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience preferred. Professional background in either mechanical engineering or outside sales desired. Analytical ability and attention to detail; comfortable traveling within an assigned territory (travel expectations around 30%). Valid driver’s license and ability to meet travel requirements. Knowledge of an ERP system and experience managing a typical sales cycle. 4-year college degree in a technical field. Preferred Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills. Strong technical background especially regarding drawings, specs, and translating customer needs into solutions. Customer service experience and professional telephone etiquette. Ability to translate customer needs into solutions and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Job Details
