Overview
Surgical Institute of Reading is hiring a RN PreOp/PACU. The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient\'s condition, patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist physicians in the procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Provides total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge. The facility is accredited by The Joint Commission and features five operating rooms and one procedure room, enabling procedures in anesthesia, gynecology, orthopedic, orthopedic foot & ankle, pain management, plastic surgery, podiatry, general, and spinal surgery. Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients in PreOp and PACU, with continual evaluation of condition, safety, comfort, and privacy. Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique as appropriate. Deliver total patient care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients and families in preparation for discharge. Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing Active RN license in the state BLS and ACLS Required; PALS if required by the center 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs Strong communication skills, verbal and written Benefits
