Overview
PREOP/PACU Registered Nurse (PREOP/PACU RN) at SurgCenter of Camelback. The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient\'s condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Provides total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
Responsibilities
Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients in the PREOP/PACU setting
Continuously evaluate patient condition, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy
Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate
Deliver comprehensive patient care from preoperative through postoperative discharge planning
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
Active RN license in the state
BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center
2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment; strong communication and organizational skills

Required Skills: Education, Training And Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current AZ Nursing License
Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU; ambulatory surgical setting experience preferred
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understanding of aseptic technique and its implementation
Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
Problem-solving, teaching, communication, and teamwork skills
Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, and ethical behavior
Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians and staff
Strong customer service orientation
