RN Manager – Cardiac Medical Unit

Portsmouth, NH Base pay range:

Job Summary: The RN Manager oversees daily operations of the Cardiac Medical Unit and collaborates closely with the Director to ensure high standards of patient care, safety, and satisfaction. This role involves managing staff performance, supporting department growth, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and driving excellence in patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily unit operations including scheduling, staffing, and patient flow.
Conduct patient rounding to ensure optimal care and satisfaction.
Participate in competency development and ongoing staff education.
Interview, hire, evaluate, and counsel nursing staff.
Oversee quality audits, monitor daily core measures, and maintain regulatory compliance.
Support the Director in managing departmental budgets and supply control.
Promote collaboration among physicians, nursing staff, and other disciplines to ensure safe and efficient care delivery.
Maintain high standards of leadership, accountability, and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Active RN license (NH or compact state) – Required
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing – Preferred
1–3 years of related acute care leadership experience – Required
Strong background in
Cardiac
patient care – Required
Proven ability to manage staff performance, patient satisfaction, and unit operations.
