Job Title: Electrical Engineer (open to senior candidates) Location: Irvine, CA – Onsite Compensation: $85,000 - $120,000 – Depending on Experience Company: Advantech USA Responsibilities
Design the system architecture and interfaces, including the electrical circuit design Collaborate with developers to create the system Provide extensive technical support to customers, business development, and sales personnel regarding embedded PC hardware and software solutions Support may include pre-sales and post-sales technical assessments, feasibility testing, data measurements, responding to customer bids, RMA verification, and on-site technical training Address field issues and interact with field sales personnel Determine high-level technical needs, create solutions, perform system tests, and oversee installation of customer environments based on embedded PC hardware and software solutions Construct hardware and software demonstration prototypes to aid sales and marketing efforts, including rapid hardware prototype development, high-level application software coding, and system integration Meet physical requirements representative of the essential functions of the job (e.g., some occasional moderate lifting, sitting, walking or standing) Qualifications
BSEE or BSCE from an accredited university (or equivalent work experience in PC hardware design, installation and troubleshooting) 3-5+ years’ experience minimum with installing and troubleshooting PC hardware Experience in PC application coding using industry standard languages (e.g., Visual Basic and C) Experience in PC hardware design or related systems design Understanding of x86/CISC and RISC PC architectures Familiarity with the latest computer hardware trends Ability to use multimeter, oscilloscope, and other traditional electronic testing equipment Ability to read and troubleshoot mechanical drawings, schematics, and PCB circuits related to PC hardware platforms Familiarity with Microsoft and Linux applications Strong leadership and mentoring abilities Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to reach solutions Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project Strong communication skills to convey issues, options, and recommendations to stakeholders Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills Attention to detail and deadlines English fluent (Mandarin a plus) Benefits
