Actalent Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a great company in the Portland Metro area!
Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for evaluating and optimizing machine processes. You will focus on programming, tooling, fixturing, and the support the effective use of CNC machinery and equipment in the shop.
Job Duties
Develop and implement CNC machine programs to support production requirements Identify and recommend improvements in tooling, machining methods, and processes to enhance safety, product quality, and throughput Evaluate and propose new manufacturing technologies and replacement equipment (may serve as Project Manager to oversee the seamless installation and commissioning of new machines and technologies) Define and document process workflows and routings Design and fabricate fixtures to support machining operations Provide training and guidance to machine operators on equipment and processes Operate machinery during critical or urgent production needs
Skills & Qualifications
This role could have someone from traditional Manufacturing Engineer experience or a very strong CNC Programmer - both would be immediately impactful. The overall goal for adding this position is to contribute to increasing production speed and efficiency.
Must Haves
Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer working with CNC machinery OR strong experience CNC Programming - CAMWorks or MasterCAM Technical expertise in CNC programming, fixturing, and machining methods, highly preferred Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Nice To Haves
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field preferred, not required Education and experience combo instead of a degree would work (likely a CNC Programmer who worked with Engineering and learned the required skills or a CNC Programmer who worked in NPI) Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles, highly preferred Ability to set-up machines and proof-out programming

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
