Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks an Automation Controls Engineer in Columbia, MO.
Responsibilities
Design and assure the performance of product assembly and automation processes based on industrial and technological resources that guarantee performance to required specifications.
Specify the automation architecture and test equipment, implementing and qualifying them in compliance with SPS principles.
Contribute to continuous improvement actions for process automation and test equipment.
Select, validate, introduce and standardize new automation and test technologies and processes.
Ensure automation and connectivity (Edge control, MES, LDS, Analytics) are successfully implemented in the manufacturing process.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or related engineering field.
6 months with Master’s or 2 years with Bachelor’s in automation system development in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in a high-mix, high complexity discrete manufacturing environment (industrial electrical equipment or automation systems).
System integrations experience (Controllers, PLCs, PC, electromechanical systems, actuators, programming coding).
PLC/HMI programming skills.
Skills in troubleshooting and development of automated systems (reading electrical/electronic signals, understanding IT/OT interactions, interpreting electronic schematics, integration of new hardware/software).
