Compensation Base salary range $10,555 to $11,111 per month ($94,995 to $99,999 per 9-month academic year), commensurate with experience and qualifications. Other compensation may include a one-time relocation stipend if applicable.

Position Description Teaching faculty at the University of Washington Tacoma perform teaching, scholarship, and service. The Assistant Teaching Professor will contribute as an engaged colleague to the growing Milgard School of Business and the campus community.

Teaching Responsibilities Teach a variety of supply chain and business analytics courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels across multiple modalities including in-person, virtual, and hybrid classrooms. Maintain a scholarly agenda that contributes to business education at UWT and/or the profession, and provide service to the university, the business school, and the community.

Curriculum Development Assist in the development of curriculum, promote continuous improvement, and actively collaborate with colleagues in service of the school and university mission.

Positive Factors for Consideration

Experience in curriculum development and/or teaching in multiple modalities, including online, hybrid, and in-person.

Professional, applied experience in supply chain, operations management, logistics, or related field.

Teaching Areas

Primary focus – Supply chain related courses: supply chain management, logistics and distribution management, supply chain risk, sourcing, demand and supply chain planning, quality control, project management, optimization, sustainability, and supply chain technology.

Secondary focus – Business intelligence/analytics courses: data/text mining, database management, business process management, prescriptive analytics, analytical decision-making, machine learning, information systems/technology, R and/or Python programming, and cloud services for analytics.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems/Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, or other related field with a primary focus on supply chain.

A record of successful teaching in the candidate’s area(s) of expertise.
