Position Summary

Commitment Incentive
$15,000 incentive paid over three (3) years work commitment.
Role Overview Conducts procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
Responsibilities
Patient Identification – verifies patient identification, obtains patient history, assists patients and family members requiring extra attention, ensures patient understanding and safety, documents pregnancy status for child‑bearing age patients.
CT Scans – obtains images per protocols, manipulates images, performs multi‑planar and 3D reconstruction, demonstrates thorough knowledge of CT algorithms, selects appropriate window and level settings according to anatomy.
Contrast – administers oral and IV contrast according to protocols, establishes intravenous lines, follows safe injection procedures, checks lab values before injection per protocol.
Image Transfer – maintains PACS knowledge, transmits images to QC, EMR, verifies and segments images, uses IMPAX, completes or updates orders, ensures charge accuracy, verifies patient identification and demographic information in accordance with UNC policy.
Other Duties – performs tasks timely, runs schedule creating consistent workflow, volunteers for challenging tasks and new research, produces quality diagnostic images, reviews patient chart, maintains clean environment, documents incidents as improvement opportunities, precepts new employees and students.
Educational and Certification Requirements
Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible; must provide a copy of diploma.
Advanced certification in CT within one year of employment.
Maintain registry status and continuing education annually.
Maintain competency in HCP BLS.
Professional Experience
Prior education, training, and experience that provides ability to perform assigned tasks.
