ICF seeks a
Senior Archaeologist
for our Northern California/Central Valley region, with primary responsibilities in historical research, fieldwork, and report writing for archaeology studies, and in developing and implementing regulatory compliance solutions to support clients' CEQA, NEPA, and NHPA requirements. Projects are anticipated to focus on Transportation, Water, Energy, and Planning & Development clients. Our cultural resources team includes experts in architectural history, history, archaeology, GIS, data management, environmental regulations, and planning. The starting pay range is $90,000 to $120,000, based on qualifications, experience, location, and other factors. Responsibilities
Lead investigations that identify and evaluate resources for the National Register of Historic Places and/or the California Register ofHistorical Resources, assess project effects on resources, develop resource management recommendations, and provide support to address complex management challenges that require technical and regulatory knowledge. Manage projects related to environmental compliance and cultural resource management, including client contact, task order management, budget control, invoicing, schedule, personnel allocation/planning, and subcontractor involvement. Collaborate in integrated teams of cultural resources specialists (archaeologists, historians, ethnographers, landscape historians, etc.) to solve problems alongside natural resources scientists, planners, regulators, engineers, and other stakeholders. Collaborate with Federal, State, and Local Agencies as well as non-governmental clients. Support clients to achieve long-term objectives and efficiencies, from programmatic strategies and feasibility studies through implementation, operations, and maintenance. Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field. 5+ years of professional experience in cultural resources management. Preferred Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of CEQA and Section 106 regulatory requirements. Familiarity with northern California Native American tribes and regional contexts. Strong fieldwork skills including pedestrian and subsurface survey, testing and evaluation, and data recovery. Working knowledge of GPS applications and site recordation. Experience working with private and public sector clients and regulatory agencies. Professional Skills You Will Use
