Overview
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work on our team with an emphasis in general cardiology. The position is an outpatient clinic focused role, based primarily at the Redstone community clinic location in Park City, UT. The role involves both independent work and close collaboration with physician partners and other advanced practice clinicians. Responsibilities
Assesses the physical condition of a group of patients by performing physical examinations and obtaining medical histories. Formulates the medical plan and prognosis based on the patient’s condition. Collaborates with health care teams regarding patient care plans and treatment. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess the patient’s clinical problems and health care needs. Initiates and/or recommends medical drug therapies or other related treatments and procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policy. Complies with medical records policies regarding complete and accurate documentation of patient care; initiates and maintains required records and legal documents. Participates in quality improvement activities. Counsels patients, families, and significant others about health and illness, and promotes health maintenance. Evaluates, plans, implements, and re-evaluates the care of individuals requiring emergency measures. Qualifications
Required:
Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah. Expectations
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above. Demonstrates clinical competence and in-depth knowledge of the specialty area. Demonstrates leadership, teaching, research, and communication skills. Ability to provide care appropriate to the population served. Minimum Qualifications
Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah. Preferred
Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required by the department or privileging criteria. Utah State prescriptive privileges. Licensure obtained by completing a Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalency (the only equivalency to the Master’s degree is current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner) and National Certification requiring completion of a nationally accredited examination. UHPPM 1-56 requires newly hired non-physician providers to apply for credentialing and privileging at the time of hire. Other Requirements
