Summary This position is eligible for a hiring bonus!
Well-qualified candidates with less than 2 years of experience are eligible to receive a $7,500 sign-on bonus! Candidates with more than 2 years of experience are eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus. This bonus will be prorated for Part-Time or Per Diem positions. Relocation assistance and temporary housing may be available if needed. Please note, this bonus is not available to current MaineHealth employees or employees who have been separated for less than 6 months.
Role Responsibilities The Medical Technologist is responsible for independently performing and monitoring laboratory testing of patient specimens. This includes confirming, interpreting, correlating, and reporting normal and abnormal results, recognizing technical, instrumental, and physiological problems, and initiating resolutions. The role also involves ensuring accuracy, quality control, and proper instrument maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications (KSAs)
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science.
License/Certifications:
Current applicable state license as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Categorical Technologist (e.g., C, H, MB, BB, M) by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT), required within six months of start date.
Experience:
Not applicable.

May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.
