Program Director: Radiologic Technologist AAS Degree Program

The Program Director is responsible for the administration and leadership of the Radiologic Technologist program and oversees faculty and all aspects of the program. Under the supervision of the Chair of Arts and Sciences, the Program Director is responsible for providing general oversight of the program offerings on campus and in affiliated clinical partner sites, including responsibility for structured guidance around consistency of practices in delivery of curriculum, program outcomes and risk management. This is a 12-month, full-time, exempt position.
Responsibilities:
Faculty Responsibilities
Teaching may include didactic as well as clinical courses within radiological sciences
Supervision of didactic and clinical courses to support a competency-based curriculum
Evaluate student performance and providing remediation as needed
Responsibility for accreditation and assessment processes
Provide systematic and periodic review and revision of curriculum, course materials, program policies and procedures
Assist and support the Clinical Coordinator with daily operations of clinical education; assess students at clinical rotation sites, and development of new clinical site affiliations
Advise and mentor students
Serve as active member of college community
Engage in active and relevant research, scholarship and professional development
Assist and attend student and program events
Assist with program recruitment
Other duties as assigned by Department Chair and VPAA
Program Director Responsibilities:
Lead the continuing development of the program
Assure effective program operations
Obtain initial and assure ongoing JRCERT program accreditation
Manage all aspects of the program budget and assess resources for budget planning
Work with faculty to ensure consistency of curricular and learning outcomes for students
Form program advisory committee membership, facilitate meetings and outcomes
In conjunction with college leadership serve as liaison with relevant external agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory matters and ensure the program meets the needs of the communities served
Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies
Other duties as assigned by the Chair or VPAA
Other responsibilities as outlined in the Maria College Faculty Handbook as described in the duties and responsibilities of Academic Program Director
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Radiologic Technology of related fields from an accredited college or university. Experience in teaching, training and leadership in the field of radiology
Higher education teaching and administrative experience is preferred
Current ARRT certification and registration or equivalent in Radiography (equivalent: an unrestricted state license for the state in which the program is located)
Current NYS Department of Health Radiologic Technologist License and Registration
Minimum of three years’ clinical experience in the professional discipline
Minimum of two years’ experience as an instructor or higher in a JRCERT accredited program (highly preferred)
Evidence of proficiency in curriculum design, program evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising
Strong organizational skills and attention to details
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Passion for excellence in teaching and learning
