The X-ray Technologist is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations. Responsibilities

Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, providing immobilization devices, shielding, selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs. Select and operate equipment as required for specific procedures. Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from the medical record, significant others and health care providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety. The collection of information is determined by the patient’s needs or condition. In accordance with ALARA principles restricts radiation beam through proper and safe collimation, providing safe care to all patients. Performs portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms. Follows procedures to safely identify patient images with name and MRN#, and correctly mark the image as to the side of the patient taken. Processes and reconstructs all images using available methods. Maintains orderly x-ray room, including ordering and maintaining proper and adequate supplies as directed by the head of the department. Prepares radiopaque contrast media and assists providers when necessary in administering radiopaque mixtures to patients. Performs administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patient instruction, maintenance of records, reception of patients and other administrative duties as required. Provides assistance to patients in moving, turning, getting on and off the x-ray tables, and accommodates the individual patient needs. Adheres to scheduled shifts including holidays and weekends; may provide overtime as needed to ensure quality patient care and on-call assignments as required by department policy. Greets patients and adheres to AIDET standards. Performs daily clerical duties using EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, and other computer systems as added by the hospital. Identifies needs of diverse patient populations and communicates appropriately at the patient’s level (developmental/age, literacy, language, etc.). Adheres to organizational competencies, completes daily and monthly QA tasks, and performs other duties as assigned. Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes/pulls at least 50 lbs., and stands for extended periods as required. Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: High School diploma, GED, or GED-equivalent programs. Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite). Licenses And Certifications Required

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification NJ state license for Diagnostic Radiology (D.R.) AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS HCP) Certification within 60 days of entering position Compensation

Minimum rate of $34.65 hourly. The posted pay reflects a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with applicable laws. The full value of our total rewards package is not captured by the starting pay alone. Equal Opportunity
