Overview

Provide high-quality patient care by performing transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography in inpatient and outpatient settings. Assist physicians, complete worksheets, process reports, and contribute to departmental quality improvement. Work closely with the Cardiovascular Imaging Manager on all aspects of departmental operations.

Responsibilities

Perform transthoracic echocardiograms proficiently on inpatients and outpatients. Assist physicians with the technical aspects of transesophageal and stress echocardiograms. Complete patient worksheets and process reports according to department guidelines. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to advance the Echocardiology department. Collaborate closely with the Cardiovascular Imaging Manager on departmental issues. Provide patient education and support regarding echocardiographic procedures. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Required Qualifications

Degree from a Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (NRDCS) credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) upon hire, OR National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) upon hire. National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience performing adult echocardiography. Experience with transesophageal and stress echocardiography.
