Overview
Job Title: Medical Assistant Location: Chicago Lawn, Chicago, IL Compensation: Starting at $17.75 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm, extended hours rotation of Noon - 8:00pm once per week, with a Saturday rotation 8:00am - 1:00pm Education/Certification: Medical Assistant Diploma and/or Certification required Responsibilities
Set up equipment, instruments, and forms according to department protocol. Maintain infection control standards by cleaning and sterilizing according to scheduled maintenance program. Keep appropriate records, order, sort, store supplies, and restock exam/procedure rooms. Maintain monthly par-levels of all supplies and medications (e.g., workstations, exam and storage rooms). Check schedules, continually assessing and organizing patient flow. Report to appropriate personnel any delays in a patient\'s visit from entry to exit. Qualifications
Completed training from an accredited Medical Assistant Program with a certificate or diploma in Medical Assisting or Phlebotomy. CPR certification required. New grads welcomed. Prior experience working in a medical office or clinic is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and basic medical procedures. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting. Ability to maintain professional relationships with patients and care team members. Comfort working in a medical setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to engage patients in a therapeutic relationship when appropriate. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working with a diverse patient population preferred. Ability to handle confrontation and conflict appropriately. Ability to work independently and seek consultation as necessary. Ability to follow organizational processes and procedures. Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment. Benefits
