Here, we strive for patient-centered care and comfort with our collaborative team of healthcare professionals. Akron General’s 7100 Unit is a high acuity cardiac telemetry and medical/surgical unit. This fast-paced team cares for patients who require extensive ADL assistance and complex medical attention. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in ensuring every patient has the best treatment experience possible and gain hands-on experience in complex medical concerns and technologies, providing an unmatched advantage within the healthcare industry. Provide direct nursing care with a focus on IV push and drip and chest pain testing/monitoring. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population. Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately. Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate. Administer treatments and medications and document accordingly. Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process. Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required unit-specific certifications. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Additional Requirements
Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion, ability to lift and move patients, standing/walking for extended periods, and normal vision/hearing with or without correction. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Physical demands may include lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using PPE as required for procedures. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, including every other weekend and 3 holidays per year. Compensation and Benefits
