Overview
A progressive, independently owned veterinary hospital in Waipahu, Hawaii is seeking a full time Associate Veterinarian to join its warm and collaborative team. The hospital cares for dogs, cats, and a variety of exotic species including guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, and reptiles, with no expectation to treat all species. The practice focuses on relationship-based care and a blend of western and eastern medicine, emphasizing time with clients, personalized treatment plans, and a supportive work environment. The hospital is open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Sunday. Full-time associates typically work four 10-hour shifts each week (three weekdays and one weekend day). Appointments are scheduled in 30-minute blocks to allow for thorough and attentive care. There are no on-call duties. Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care for canine and feline patients, with the option to treat exotic species based on comfort and interest. Responsibilities include performing wellness and sick exams, interpreting diagnostics, developing treatment plans, and conducting surgical and dental procedures. For those interested, the practice also offers the opportunity to incorporate acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine into patient care. Mentorship is available for recent graduates or veterinarians wishing to expand their skills in new areas. The hospital features four exam rooms, a dedicated dental surgery area, and advanced diagnostic capabilities including ultrasound, digital radiography, dental radiography, and in-house IDEXX laboratory equipment. Records are fully paperless. The team is actively working toward AAHA accreditation, with inspection scheduled for December 2025. The hospital’s approach integrates conventional and holistic care, creating an individualized experience for patients and clients alike. Team and Environment
