The University of Florida, Department of Emergency Medicine, seeks a motivated
Emergency Medicine Physician
to join our team. You will provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative setting, supporting the department's commitment to innovation and excellence in emergency medicine. Focused on delivering outstanding clinical service in a novel care model, you will collaborate with a dedicated and excellence-driven team to shape the future of emergency care at our new Ocala Neighborhood Hospital.
The UF Department of Emergency Medicine proudly maintains an affiliation with UF Health Shands Hospital, a distinguished 1,162-bed teaching facility renowned for its Level 1 trauma center and cutting-edge burn center. This affiliation underscores our commitment to top-tier medical care and innovation.
Key Details About The Role
New hospital, fresh start. Be among the first to practice in a purpose-built microhospital using an innovative care model.
Manageable volume. Fewer than 10,000 visits expected in year one.
Flexible scheduling. Twelve 12-hour shifts/month.
Team-first culture. Work alongside a tight-knit, collaborative group. Collaborate with nursing, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership.
Academic connection. Maintain a direct affiliation with UF’s main Emergency Department in Gainesville.
Deliver high-quality emergency care to a broad range of patients.
Facilitate smooth transfers to higher-acuity care when needed.
Champion a positive patient experience in a fast-paced setting.
Location The City Of Ocala Located in beautiful North Central Florida's scenic “Horse Capital of the World,” Ocala blends natural beauty with suburban convenience. From rolling horse farms, crystal-clear springs, to national forests, and easy drives to both coasts — all while being part of a close-knit medical community backed by the University of Florida.
Compensation and Benefits Expected Salary Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications Licensed to practice medicine
in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes* plus four years of appropriate experience. Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience.
Preferred
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
Qualified for licensure in the State of Florida
Federal DEA Certification
