Responsibilities

Use your product knowledge to engage in customized discussions and in-person interactions based on customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner

Drive outstanding sales performance to meet or exceed forecasts

Effectively use assigned budgets to drive therapeutic and territory objectives

Maintain current understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers; share insights with relevant Ascendis stakeholders

Work with customers and accounts to understand practice structure, business models, key influencers, network structure, customer needs, and identify business opportunities

Utilize analytical tools to understand and evaluate the business and determine how to accomplish sales objectives ethically and effectively

Collaborate with leaders to develop a business plan aligned with goals and sales objectives; understand formulary approvals and opportunities for implementation

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to deliver resources and pull-through within the territory

Maintain administrative excellence for work hours, sales call data, customer objectives responses, samples, expenses, and other administrative items

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

5+ years of sales experience in a specialty environment, with preference for rare disease and injectable experience; adult endocrinology experience preferred

Ability to work in an ambiguous, changing environment; start-up experience preferred

Experience with complex distribution systems and HUB services to ensure a smooth customer experience

Proven history of strong performance

Experience in a new product launch environment preferred

Demonstrated experience working with patient services in a distribution HUB and specialty pharmacies

Self-starter with strong decision-making, judgment, and ethics

Ability to collaborate across functions and with peers

Experience in a specialty drug (rare/orphan disease) environment addressing customer and patient needs in a compliant way

Ability to develop a successful business plan based on customer and patient needs

Ability to analyze data/metrics to assess progress and identify opportunities

Experience establishing new customer relationships and communicating technical information ethically and effectively

Ability to meet credentialing requirements at all times (may require updates or repeat screens)

Valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Overnight travel required

Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary for this position is

$190,000 . Actual salary will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Some positions may include a company car or car allowance and eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
