Urgent Care / Emergency Medicine Facility Type:
Onsite – Urgent Care – Emergency Department The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide team‑based, patient‑centered care in a high‑acuity, fast‑paced Urgent Care/Emergency Department environment. The PA functions under physician supervision and may participate in outpatient, procedural, or emergency care. Ideal candidates have solid clinical skills, experience in urgent/emergent care, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Key Responsibilities: Conduct physical exams, collect patient history, and document medical data. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, ECGs). Perform therapeutic procedures: injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care. Develop patient care plans with supervising physicians and maintain EMR documentation. Provide patient and family education on treatment, preventive care, and post‑care instructions. Assist in rounding, pre/post‑op care, surgical first assist, discharges, transfers, and admissions as needed. Minimum Qualifications: California Physician Assistant License – Required at hire. Graduate of an ARC‑PA accredited Physician Assistant program – Required. National Certification (NCCPA) – Required at hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required. National Provider Identifier (NPI) – Required at hire. Additional Requirements: Fluoroscopy Permit required within 18 months if applicable (Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology, Radiation Oncology). Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. Department‑specific procedure competency as needed. Preferred Qualifications: 1–2 years of PA experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Department. Familiarity with acute care procedures, triage, and surgical assist techniques. Required Skills & Competencies: Clinical examination and diagnostic reasoning. Acute care and emergency management. Patient triage and procedural skills. Strong EMR/documentation proficiency. Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of safety protocols, compliance, and infection control.
