Hourly Range: $29.03/hr - $35.99/hr

Responsibilities

Responsible for the accuracy, precision, quality and performance of screening, diagnostic and invasive mammography done in the Radiology Department. This includes ensuring all technical requirements, quality control and quality assurance measures as required by ARRT, FDA, ACR, MQSA, and other mammography accrediting agencies, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the mammography suite and equipment.

Independently evaluates the quality of compression views, magnification views, or other standard/specialized views. Responsible for follow-up of abnormal mammograms and tracking of abnormal results, maintaining records and documenting appropriate and timely follow-up. This includes health record audits and meticulous record keeping, with professional staff interface.

Establishes contacts to provide and receive information to support breast cancer screening efforts. Develops and maintains working relationships with agencies, individuals and groups concerned with breast cancer prevention and control. Assists the HPIDP Program in planning and implementing a comprehensive women’s health education program.

Develops and maintains working relationships with appropriate agencies and groups concerned with breast cancer prevention and control.

Assists the Health Promotion/Disease Prevention (HPIDP) Program in planning, developing and implementing a comprehensive women’s health education program.

Maintains databases for planning, development and evaluation of a Mammography Management System. Identifies and promotes measures to strengthen and improve breast health data.

Plans, develops, implements, maintains and evaluates a program to promote breast cancer screening. Performs post-operative specimen exams of breast biopsies and follows sterile techniques.

Plays a key role in follow-up of patients and outcome analysis with the Radiologist and/or other departments, as required by the FDA and/or its certified agents. Develops breast imaging protocols with the supervising Radiologist.

Orders and maintains supplies.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience

Five (5) years of direct experience as a certified ARRT Mammography Technologist.

Education

Licensed in Mammography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
