As an Assistant Store Manager, you will have the opportunity to partner with the Store Manager to develop outstanding associates, deliver exceptional and consistent customer experiences, and positively impact growth across Bath & Body Works. Responsibilities
Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
Set and reinforce clear and concise performance expectations, results goals, and accountability with all associates.
Lead store tasks delegated by the store manager, including acting as manager on duty to address customer experience, vendor relationships, or maintenance issues.
Partner with the sales leadership team to support action plans that improve results and ensure effective execution of operational activities.
Implement and sustain floorset direction to optimize the business and bring the product story to life.
Perform opening and closing routines including bank deposits, receipt of shipment, and interpretation/dissemination of company directives.
Set the direction and goals for the day/shift when associates arrive for work.
Provide individual and team performance feedback and recommendations to managers.
Meet payroll targets by ensuring appropriate sales floor coverage and maintaining a selling focus.
Lead exceptional in-store customer experiences through modeling selling behaviors rooted in Our Values and product knowledge.
Create genuine connections with customers through uncovering needs, sharing product information, demos, and personalized recommendations.
Train, coach, reward, and motivate associates to improve selling and the customer experience.
Reinforce selling expectations, performance, results, and accountability with all associates.
All store positions require constant physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching, and lifting. Associates may climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging experience by adhering to safety standards and expectations.
Maintain our values, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
Proven experience delivering sales, customer experience, and operational results in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in a manager role, preferably in a retail setting.
Thrives in a customer-first retail environment.
Ability to foster a customer-focused selling culture.
Effective communication skills, openness to feedback, and the ability to adapt quickly.
Ability to provide in-the-moment coaching to associates.
Ability to de-escalate store and customer situations effectively.
Must be available to work peak days and times, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education
High school diploma, GED certificate, or relevant work experience.
