Central Washington University is recruiting an Assistant Professor of Mental Health Counseling to join our Psychology team in Ellensburg, Washington. This campus-based position supports teaching, service, and the reestablishment of the Mental Health Counseling master’s program. Salary ranges from $65,136 to $73,016 annually, depending on experience, plus CWU benefits. What we offer

The Department of Psychology seeks an Assistant Professor for a tenure-track position to support the reestablishment of the Mental Health Counseling master’s program (held from summer 2023 until fall 2025). Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching, developing their own scholarship, involving students in research, advising graduate students, and mentoring undergraduate psychology students. Candidates should be prepared to teach graduate-level counseling and undergraduate-level psychology and/or behavioral health courses, be eligible to supervise counseling practica and/or internship, and provide quality service to the department, university, community, and profession. The faculty member must be willing to teach on the Ellensburg campus and have the ability to teach in-person and online or in web-enhanced formats (synchronous and asynchronous). This position is initially funded by a generous donation from Comprehensive Healthcare and will be designated as a Comprehensive Healthcare Assistant Professor for four years beginning in 2026-27. Minimum Qualifications

Meet one of the following education requirements by September 15, 2026: earned doctoral degree in counselor education (preferably CACREP-accredited); OR related doctoral degree with at least one full academic year as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program before July 1, 2013; OR full-time doctoral-level faculty member in a CORE-accredited master’s program prior to July 1, 2017; OR graduated from a rehabilitation doctoral program prior to January 1, 2018. License eligible as a counselor in the state of Washington. Professional identity as a counselor educator, including participation in professional activities, scholarly activities, and/or service to the profession. Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated commitment to and/or experience mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate research through teaching and mentoring activities. Experience as a licensed clinician in counseling. Experience teaching graduate and/or undergraduate psychology courses that engage and inspire students from diverse identities and backgrounds. Record of scholarly productivity. Familiarity with CACREP requirements and willingness to support the Program Coordinator in meeting accreditation reporting requirements. Training and experience in distance-based education and clinical services. Research, teaching, and service that contribute to CWU’s vision of a model learning community of access and opportunity. Annual Salary:

$65,136 – $73,016, based on a full-time nine-month appointment. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Appointment:

Full-Time, Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment. Additional Summer teaching may be available. CWU operates on the quarter system with appointments from mid-September through mid-June. Benefits:
