The Housekeeping Aid Work Leader leads the Environmental Management Service (EMS) Sanitation Section at the Dayton VA Medical Center. The role directs WG‑1 and WG‑2 Housekeeping Aids and oversees work therapy patients, managing schedules, training, and quality reporting. Work Schedule
Full‑time, full‑day, subject to change based on facility needs. Salary
$22.01 to $25.64 per hour. Duties
Lifts and carries items up to 40 pounds, occasionally over 50 pounds. Operates industrial power‑cleaning equipment (burnishers, buffing machines, auto scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, ride‑on scrubbers). Provides guidance and directs work of assigned employees, evaluates completed work. Maintains infectious control protocols (hand washing, personal hygiene, universal precautions). Resolves problems during work completion per instructions and policies. Assists in planning, coordinating and scheduling employees to ensure adequate coverage. Maintains accurate records (quality reporting, inventory, employee training, daily reports). Qualifications
Experience: proof of training or experience sufficient to perform job duties; detailed description on resume. Screen‑out: meet minimum acceptable qualification for further rating.
