Job Description
An exciting opportunity awaits for a Lighting Designer with a growing engineering consulting firm near Boise specializing in exterior lighting design for residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects.
4-6 years of experience in lighting design, ideally focused on exterior or infrastructure projects
Proficiency with AGi32, Visual, DIALux, or equivalent lighting analysis software
Strong AutoCAD skills with ability to produce detailed lighting plans and specs
Experience with photometric calculations, fixture selection, and Title 24 documentation
Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and landscape designers on project coordination
Develop lighting schedules, cut sheets, technical specs, and permit‑ready documents
Apply IES standards, energy codes, and agency requirements to ensure compliance
Participate in project meetings and clearly communicate design intent with clients and field teams
Salary: $60,000 - $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
